ADELPHI, Md. (April 18, 2018) – The Cybersecurity Program at University of Maryland University College (UMUC) was recognized by the 2018 SC Awards as Best Cybersecurity Higher Education Program across the nation. Awards were announced at the SC Awards 2018 gala on April 17, 2018 in San Francisco.
Adelphi, Md. (April 17) — University of Maryland University College (UMUC) will host a military appreciation fair and Fun Run on Saturday, May 5 at the Academic Center at Largo (1616 McCormick Drive, Largo).
The fair, open to all active-duty service members, veterans and their families, offers opportunities for attendees to meet with veterans’ service organizations (VSOs) and UMUC career services representatives. Attendees can also learn about the One2One mentor program that provides veterans, servicemembers, and their families with individualized, peer-to-peer support.

(April 4, 2018) —Dr. Emma Garrison-Alexander, vice dean of cybersecurity and information assurance in the Graduate School at University of Maryland University College (UMUC) and a highly sought-after speaker and thought leader in information technology and cybersecurity, has won the Cybersecurity Association of Maryland, Incorporated (CAMI) People’s Choice Award.
University of Maryland University College (UMUC) Asia will celebrate student accomplishment with a formal commencement ceremony in each of its four regions.
Students who either completed their associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degrees during the summer, fall, or winter of 2017 or in spring 2018 were invited to participate. The ceremonies will honor more than 700 servicemembers, dependents, veterans, and civilians, and will recognize the years of work that went into the completion of each degree.
ADELPHI, Md., Feb. 26, 2018 – A team of graduate and undergraduate students from University of Maryland University College (UMUC) has advanced to the final round of the 2018 National Cyber Analyst Challenge (NCAC). The competition was created in 2015 by Lockheed Martin and Temple University’s Institute for Business and Information Technology (IBIT), which also administers the competition annually, to help fill the ever-growing need for cyber analysts. It is sponsored by Leidos, NBCUniversal, Vanguard and Pfizer.
