The University of Maryland University College (UMUC) course Essentials of Computer Programming (UCSP 635) has received a 2016 Effective Practice Award from the Online Learning Consortium (OLC), the leading professional organization devoted to advancing the quality of online learning worldwide.
UMUC’s award, one of only eight that was selected through peer review by the OLC’s Effective Practice Awards Committee, was presented Nov. 17 at OLC Accelerate 2016 Conference in Orlando, Florida.
"Members of the OLC community continually strive to develop and deliver quality online learning experiences," said Kathleen S. Ives, D.M., CEO and executive director, Online Learning Consortium. "This year's Award recipients represent extraordinary examples of the innovation happening in online learning today. OLC’s Effective Practice Awards recognize practices, techniques and strategies that are shared by members of the OLC community to advance quality and access to online programs and optimize the online learning experience.
UMUC’s honorees, Essentials of Computer Programming (UCSP 635) course developers Michael Brown, Tommy Bennett and Lewis Williams, were recognized for "Multiple Programming Language Introduction Programming Course."
